Naval Architecture & Offshore Engineering
Naval Architecture & Offshore Engineering : UG : Four years
Naval architecture and Offshore engineering is a four year under graduate program which comes under the specialisation of Marine engineering, Naval architecture and Offshore engineering are two closely related fields that deal with the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of ships, boats, offshore structures, and marine systems. Naval architects are responsible for designing the hull, structure, propulsion systems and other systems of ships to ensure they are seaworthy, efficient and safe. Offshore engineers apply principles of structural engineering, geo-technical engineering, marine engineering and other disciplines to design and operate offshore structures that can withstand the harsh conditions of the marine environment, including waves, currents and corrosive saltwater. Both the fields play critical role in the maritime industry, supporting activities such as transportation, offshore oil and gas exploration and production, renewable energy generation, and marine resource extraction. Professionals in this field work to ensure the safety, efficiency and sustainability of marine operations and infrastructure.
Eligibility : +2 / Intermediate with Physics, Chemistry and Maths as compulsory subjects.
